What Is the Best Time to Visit Mexico?

Of course, Mexico is always a good idea and there’s no bad time for visiting it.

Yet, some parts of the year are more convenient than the others, depending on the purpose and goal of your trip.

Maybe you just want to avoid the crowds of tourists, even if that means carrying an umbrella all the time. Or you are willing to swim through the sea of tourists just to be at the seaside at the peak of the season. Or you simply want a laid-back road trip through this lovely country.

Whatever your agenda might be, here are a few hints from Oscar Padilla Mexican Insurance on when to go and how to get the most out of your Mexican vacation.

Fall for Independent Travelers

The time when the temperatures are not scorching hot, and there’s not so much rain either, when there are no crowds and the prices are lower. Sounds like a dream come true, right?

Well, all this is possible if you go to Mexico in September or October. You will have perfect conditions to walk around and explore the place you are, to enjoy sightseeing without being bothered by high temperatures or boring rain.

You also don’t have to worry so much about hurricanes as this is the end of their season.

When it comes to different attractive events in this period, September is the month of celebrating the Mexican Independence.

The holiday is on the 16th, but there are celebrations during the whole month, throughout the whole year. October is the month of the cultural festival Cervantino and The Morelia International Film Festival.

Finally we all now the November holidays in Mexico, but that’s when it starts getting crowded, so keep that in mind. Oh, and if you are driving to Mexico, you will need a special car insurance. Fortunately, it’s easy to get Mexican car insurance online.

Winter for Beach Bums

If you’re dreaming of Mexico’s sandy beaches and turquoise waters, the season starts all the way in December. Have you ever experienced a tropical New Year’s Eve? Mexico could be perfect for that.

December and January are basically the high beach season in the country so you should be able to enjoy the beach paradise. February is also a beach month in Mexico, and it’s the driest month of the year in this country.

If you’re interested in feeling the holiday spirit in Mexico, December is the time of Christmas preparations and celebrations, so you might come across a lot of processions and similar events. January is also filled with beautiful Christian holidays.

Summer for Nature Lovers

Even though February is the best time to come and see the numerous Monarch butterflies population in Mexico, June is the month when the season of egg-laying for turtles begins. So if you’d like to take part in this lovely event, you can do it starting from June.

This is, however, a high humidity season, and the hurricane season so you should keep all this in mind. Tourists are not numerous at this time of the year, as July counts as the wettest month of the year. But if you feel that the rain is not all so bad, this might be the right time for you to visit the country. Plus it will give you an opportunity to enjoy the lush vegetation of the Mexican forests.

When it comes to cultural events in the summer, you can enjoy the Dia de Los Locos celebration if you visit Mexico in June, or enjoy Mexican dances and culture if you happen to be there in July and visit The Guelaguetza festival in Oaxaca.
